What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher II position at Pine Crest School?
Purpose: The Teacher II is a certified teacher that provides support to the students in all areas, and also works collaboratively and critically with the Lead Teacher of the classroom.
Essential Job Functions
Bachelors degree required.
Experience
Previous experience of working with children is essential. This can be gained through working at schools, voluntary work, job shadowing, helping at a summer camp or equivalent.

Valid Teacher Certification from a state within the United States
Essential Job Functions
- Shares daily responsibilities with the Lead Teacher; is responsible for working with students individually and in small and whole group settings
- Serves as the Lead Teacher, assumes responsibility for all classroom activities and instruction, if the Lead Teacher is unavailable
- Develops lesson plans for a particular class unit or for an individual child, at their own initiative (to be approved by the Lead Teacher) and/or at the request of the Lead Teacher
- Shares the responsibility of administering assessment testing with other colleagues
- Communicates information to the Lead Teacher concerning students experiencing academic and/or behavioral difficulties and successes
- Provides assistance regarding computer usage as it applies to curriculum instruction. Manipulates all classroom instructional technologies including hardware and software, as well as instructs students on their usage, as applicable
- Assists the Lead Teacher in conducting parent-teacher conferences by providing input as to what you have observed in the classroom, if requested to do so
- Assists the Lead Teacher with grading and the reporting of grades on report cards
- Assists in the organization and supervision of students during arrival and dismissal, including carpool and buses
- Supervises playground activities
- Informs the Lead Teacher and Division Administrator of any health or safety hazard found in the classroom or on the playground
- Helps students resolve conflicts in a positive manner
- Serves as a role model to all students and to members of the Pine Crest community
- Assists and oversees behavior in the lunchroom
