Description :
The Kiln Car Repair Technician will maintain kiln cars including : sweep off brick debris, straighten and replace tiles, replace caps, stringers, posts, perimeter blocks and insulation. Will perform minor metal repairs, grease and replace wheel bearings. Also the Kiln Car Repair Technician will use proper tools to maintain kiln cars such as : tape measure, combination wrenches and other hand tools, grease gun, cutting torch, welder, square and level.
Requirements :
- Maintain safe and clean work area to avoid personal injury and / or property damage.
- Use proper safety equipment and procedures.
- Ability to learn other jobs and fill in when needed.
- Ability to inventory kiln car components and keep supplies stocked.
- Ability to keep empty cars moving towards the setting area.
- Ability to operate transfer car in manual and reset to automatic.
- Ability to communicate with supervision about production and safety issues.
