What are the responsibilities and job description for the First Grade Elementary Classroom Teacher (Long Term Substitute) position at Pine Hill Elementary School?
Pine Hill Elementary School is seeking a long-term substitute teacher to teach grade 1, beginning August 25, 2025, for about a four-month period.
We seek a certified elementary educator who values and respects children and who is a strong collaborator, independent thinker, and reflective practitioner. The teacher is expected to teach the Grade 1 curriculum, refine instructional plans to address student needs, and design individual and small group interventions, and inclusion of students with special education and ELL needs. In addition, the teacher will maintain a classroom community predicated on mutual respect, positive relationships, and effective motivation and management for learning.
Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will have a degree in education, Massachusetts licensure in elementary education, SEI endorsement, and experience implementing the readers/writers workshop model and an inquiry-based approach to science. Additional responsibilities include communication with families, participation in faculty and grade level team meetings, completion of report cards, and conducting parent/guardian conferences.

Qualifications
-Current elementary 1-6 licensure or PreK-2 licensure
-Knowledge of elementary pedagogy and best practices
