Job Description :
- Responsible and accountable for performing the nursing process as a basis for patient care.
- Provide direction and oversight to licensed and non-licensed staff.
- Show compassion through integrity, stewardship, empowerment, the promotion of diversity, and professional excellence.
- Assess care needs, develop a plan of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and continually reassess the plan according to care needs.
- Collaborate with physicians to provide and coordinate nursing care to individuals and groups.
- Assist in the teaching of families and provide milieu management.
- Educate families / significant others in discharge / aftercare planning needs.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients and staff in both individual and group settings.
- Document, report, and verify all necessary information according to established policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report any potential risk to patient safety that could lead to an adverse outcome.
- Maintain professionalism and initiate and maintain positive relationships with departments, co-workers, and external customers.
- Provide care in various clinical settings with diverse populations.
- Identify specific patient needs and implement patient-centered, compassionate care.
- Function as a clinical leader, delegating / coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development.
- Utilize and promote the careful use of resources.
- May train direct care staff and be indirectly responsible for oversight of medication and physical health activities in a program.
- May handle scheduling, staffing, and obtaining pre-authorizations.
