What Will You Do?
As a Laboratory Technician at Pine Rest, you’ll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. Responsible to uphold the healing ministry of Christ through relationships that honor integrity, stewardship, empowerment, the promotion of diversity and professional excellence. The Laboratory Technician draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of phlebotomy. Performs electrocardiograms in accordance with established practices and procedures and maintains adequate supplies for performing duties. The Laboratory Technician is dedicated to excellent customer service, enthusiastic about the care we offer, and foster a sense of belonging and empowerment in a diverse workplace.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible to role model the mission and values of the organization through appropriate social behavior and problem solving. Interacts with residents in a fair, just and respectful manner which models our customer service principles.
- Complete reports and paperwork as needed. This includes log sheets, behavioral reports, PEERS reports, incident reports, infection control reports, etc.
- Communicate with clinical staff and management in a timely and professional manner.
- Uses basic computer software for communication and reporting.
- Required to be available for at least one on-call shift per week.
- Assist in the careful use of resources.
- Support and demonstrate a customer friendly approach in accordance with performance improvement.
- Assists in the training of new staff.
Education/Experience
- High School education or GED required.
- Current Phlebotomy or Medical Assisting certification is preferred.
- Evidence of documented competency to do phlebotomy and EKG’s.
- Valid Driver’s License.
