What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher - Odyssey (2025-2026 School Year) position at Pine Street Elementary?
QUALIFICATIONS: Certification in Elementary, Special Education, Early Childhood Education or related field. Preferred candidates must be knowledgeable about the curriculum for Early Childhood and Elementary students, effective practices and interventions that promote student achievement, and effective interventions regarding teaching and learning.
JOB GOALS: To work with teachers, students, and parents to promote student achievement.
Primary Responsibility: Organizes and implements the reading/literacy plan in assigned building. Responsible for identification of students, implementation of services, parent conferences, staff development, and tracking of RTI student progress.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Works cooperatively with building principals and classroom teachers in their classrooms and with children in small groups.
- Attends all training class sessions.
- Guides teachers to collect and analyze data and develop action plans in repose to determined student needs.
- Oversees the school’s RTI assessment procedures.
- Conducts meaningful and well planned Professional Development to teachers in best practice in literacy.
- Models best practice side by side with teachers.
- Assists teachers in planning, sequencing and scaffolding of instruction.
- Serves as the school’s curriculum coordinator and attend monthly district level meetings
- Serves as part of the school’s Leadership Team.
- Oversees Fountas and Pinnell implementation.
- Directs and oversees DRA assessment for kindergarten students.
- Oversees LLI training and implementation in classrooms.
- Maintains regular attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
- Works with others consistently in a professional, cooperative, and respectful manner.
