SCHEDULE : Monday - Friday; 40 Hrs and occasionally as needed
LOCATION : 444 Harrison Ave. Boston and other regional locations as needed.
SUMMARY OF POSITION :
This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining all medical billing operations across the organization, including the Stabilization Day Treatment Program, CSP, Recovery Coaching and any potential new programs under the direction of the Agency. The Associate Director will work with the Director to monitor healthcare trends, and will be a key support around identifying additional revenue sources and the most efficient way to support current operations as regulations and trends evolve. The Associate Director works closely with Pine Street Inn’s Finance department to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all KPI’s associated with Medical Billing. They will support the Director on managing external support teams and payors as well as all government committees and departments in the area of Healthcare Strategy. The Associate Director will also manage and direct the reporting and data development and collaborate with Medical Billing colleagues to provide PSI staff support and training. The Associate Director will also manage third party billing agencies and claims process improvement projects for the Medical Billing department.

EDUCATION / TRAINING :
REQUIRED :
High School Diploma with extensive experience in Claims Processing and Medical Billing
PREFERRED :
Bachelor’s degree or education / training in third party payer requirements and functions
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE :
REQUIRED :
An understanding of Managed Care Organizations, payor contracts and billing
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience managing the billing processes of an electronic health record system
Knowledge of low income and homeless individuals ? Knowledge of CSP-HI, Stabilization, Recovery Coach and other Behavioral Health Services
Strong ability to train and supervise the work of employees; effectively organize, prioritize, and schedule tasks to ensure practice timelines are met
Exhibit strong initiative, development and implementation of innovative process improvements
Prior experience with third party payer billing management and software systems
Strong experience with medical insurance / healthcare terminology, billing and collections work in a healthcare system, health insurance and / or medical practice
PREFERRED :
Knowledge of Commercial and MassHealth coverage types, Accountable Care Organizations and Managed Care Organizations
Possess knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations (state and federal) affecting Behavioral Health services, medical billing and insurance verification ? Deep knowledge and understanding of revenue cycle, collections and payment posting, medical billing, Medicaid, and third-party payers
Thorough knowledge and working experience of CPT and ICD9 codes, UB04 claim forms, 835, 837, HCFA 1500. ? Solid knowledge of basic accounting principles and business management to be able to effectively collaborate with Finance and other areas within PSI
