Under the supervision of the BHS Office Manager, the receptionist greets visitors, handles incoming telephone calls, and assists with patient flow. S/he facilitates scheduling using the electronic health record and performs selected clerical functions.

WHAT You’ll do as a Receptionist:
- Answer the telephone and direct calls or take messages.
- Greet visitors to the Agency and announce their presence to the appropriate staff.
- Address visitor’s concerns in a professional manner, facilitating their referral to the appropriate administrator.
- Process billing sheets; verify insurance eligibility of behavioral health clients daily.
- Collect client co-pays and ensure the safe transfer of this money to the fiscal department.
- Enter and update client information in the electronic health record and schedule client appointments. Also coordinate and schedule therapy room assignments.
- Perform end-of-day clerical duties, i.e., locks filing cabinets, , turn off copier and lock front door.

Before you apply, please make sure you understand the minimum requirements for this position:
- The incumbent of this position must have a high school diploma, prior office/clerical experience, and proficiency in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
- S/he must have a warm, friendly personality and the ability to handle a busy telephone system as well as the ability to respond professionally to inquiries at the front desk.
- The incumbent must demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic differences present among the Agency’s defined service population.
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Able to work Afternoon/Evening Shift
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
