Job Summary:
Pinecrest Sloan Canyon is seeking a dynamic and passionate High School Spanish Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and rigorous Spanish language instruction for high school students, incorporating speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with Nevada Academic Content Standards and Pinecrest Sloan Canyon’s curriculum.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including technology integration, collaborative learning, and project-based assignments.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and interventions as needed.
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including English Language Learners and students with varying proficiency levels.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and other required documentation.
- Collaborate with colleagues, school leadership, and other stakeholders to enhance the Spanish language program.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events to support the school’s mission and student success.
- Encourage students to explore Spanish-speaking cultures through authentic experiences, such as guest speakers, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid Nevada teaching license with an endorsement in Spanish or the ability to obtain one.
- Previous teaching experience at the high school level preferred.
- Proficiency in Spanish and a strong understanding of second language acquisition strategies.
- Ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into the classroom.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Advanced Placement (AP) Spanish or dual enrollment programs.
- Background in curriculum development and differentiated instruction.
- Experience leading or participating in extracurricular language-related activities, such as a Spanish club or international travel programs.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $53,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
