Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 6th Grade Social Studies/Ancient Civilizations Teacher to join our Pinecrest Sloan Canyon team for the 2025-2026 school year. As a Social Studies Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in the field of social studies. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
- Teach social studies topics such as history, geography, economics, and government
- Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
- Foster critical thinking and analytical skills in students
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
- Incorporate technology into lessons to enhance student engagement and understanding
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create interdisciplinary projects
- Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development
- Stay updated on current educational trends and best practices in social studies instruction
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in social studies or a related subject area
- Experience teaching social studies at the secondary level
- Strong knowledge of social studies content, including history, geography, economics, and government
- Familiarity with learning technologies and their integration into the classroom
- Ability to effectively manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Excellent organizational skills to plan lessons and assess student progress
