Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical education and literacy education, with the ability to engage students in various physical activities while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. The degree should typically be in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- Coursework: Coursework should include classes in physical education methods, health education, anatomy and physiology, sports science, and teaching strategies for middle school students.
- Certification: Florida Educator Certification: To be employed as a PE teacher in Florida, candidates must hold a valid Florida Educator's Certificate.
- PE Certification Exam: Completion of the required exams, which may include the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE). This includes a subject area exam specifically for Physical Education.
- Background Check: All Florida teachers are required to undergo a background check and fingerprinting.
3. Experience:
- Teaching Experience: While not always required, previous experience in teaching, coaching, or working with children is beneficial. Student teaching experience during college is generally required for certification.
- Classroom Management: Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom and develop effective lesson plans.
