Commercial Construction Estimator
Location: Reno, NV
Job Type: Full-time (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM)

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team and play a critical role in our preconstruction and estimating process.
Position Overview:
As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preconstruction planning, estimating, design coordination, permitting, and owner contract tasks. You will work closely with executives, project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are accurately estimated and prepared for execution. Your expertise will contribute directly to the success and efficiency of our projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Preconstruction Planning: Collaborate with executives and ownership to establish priorities and objectives for upcoming projects.
- Bid & Estimate Preparation: Gather and analyze bids from subcontractors and vendors to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
- Drawing Distribution & Coordination: Ensure timely distribution of drawings and documents to clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
- Subcontractor & Client Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication among stakeholders throughout the preconstruction process.
- Project Handoff & Documentation: Prepare detailed handoff packages for project managers and superintendents, ensuring a seamless transition from preconstruction to active construction.
- Best Practices Implementation: Uphold and refine company policies, preconstruction procedures, and estimating best practices.
- Scope Development: Create detailed scopes of work for sub-trades before and during bid solicitations.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential conflicts in project documents and proactively address cost risks.
- Market & Cost Analysis: Stay informed of industry trends, material costs, and labor market conditions to provide accurate estimates.
Qualifications & Skills:
General Requirements:
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask (manage 5–10 projects simultaneously).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with subcontractors, owners, and design professionals.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to represent Pinecrest in a positive and polished manner.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently while maintaining accountability.
- Trustworthy and discreet when handling confidential information.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Technical & Industry Experience:
- 15 years of construction experience.
- 10 years of estimating experience with commercial general contractors.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial construction contracts, subcontracts, value engineering, permitting, and design coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including:
- Excel (Advanced proficiency required)
- Word
- Outlook
- Project
- Experience with Procore and Microsoft Project is a plus.
- Strong typing skills and superior written communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
