Position Summary
Pinehurst Medical Clinic is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Pulmonology team in Sanford, NC. This position plays a key role in patient care by working in collaboration with a supervising physician. Emphasis on patient care, stable acute illness reprieve, health promotion, and illness/injury prevention. Coordinates staffing and orientation of assigned team members. Plans and conducts ongoing education and training. Maintains infection control/safety standards, and is committed to providing and promoting patient-centered communication and care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Makes responsible decisions within the scope of a dependent medical practitioner.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care in various outpatient clinical settings.
- Outpatient practice involves managing patients with the usual respiratory diseases.
- Assesses and treats patients with pulmonary fibrosis, COPD, sleep apnea, heart failure, asthma, lung cancer, insomnia, and other pulmonary diseases.
- Developing protocols for the management of pulmonary diseases.
- Compliance with all coding and documentation requirements.
- Educates patients and families as appropriate. Provides continuity of care.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Must be comfortable floating to other locations as needed.

- Current or in the process of obtaining an unrestricted license PA in North Carolina.
- Minimum 1-2 years of Internal Medicine or Cardiopulmonary experience preferred.
