What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Golf Professional-Main Golf Shop-Exempt position at Pinehurst Resort?
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to provide management to all aspects of Golf Operation for Pinehurst Courses No.1 thru No. 5.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of two years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a Class A Member of the PGA or in the process of acquiring credentials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist in managing and supervising the day to day operation of the following areas of Golf Operations; Front Door, Club Storage, Golf Cars, Golf Registration, Locker Room and Starter Rangers.
- Fiscal responsibilities of the area within golf operation that they manage to including revenues, payroll, forecasting, in accordance to financial practices of the Company.
- Assist in producing EPs work schedules.
- Assist in the budgeting process and ensure cost control while ensuring overall quality of major functions in an expanding business.
- Interface with Employees, Members and Guests on a regular basis.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of the Member and Group Tournaments are executed in a professional manner to meet and exceed the Members and Guest expectations.
- Ensure guest issues and concerns from Members and Guests are promptly handled and followed up with accordingly.
- Work closely with Yield / Tee Time Office to ensure appropriate communication and coordination between Tee Time Office, Golf Group Services, and Golf Shop Registration.
- Assist the Resort Head Golf Pro and and 1st Assistant Golf Pro as directed.
- Maintain Class A certification with the PGA of America.
- Have a strong working knowledge of in house systems such as Golf Pro / V1, Club Essentials, Golf Genius, TPP, and Timesaver.
- Assist the Pinehurst Golf Academy staff with classes / lessons and private lessons for members and guests.
- Must be aware of surroundings with an understanding of a golf environment. Must have the ability to see and react to the surroundings including errant golf balls and must understand and follow proper golf etiquette while completing tasks.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES :
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of specified Employees within Golf Operations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
