Position Requirements
- Patient Satisfaction/Responding to Patients
- Appropriately schedules time off/Limit unscheduled absences.
- Respond to telephone inquiries relating to department services
- Return patient calls promptly
- Provide clean and comfortable environment for patients
- Perform all duties in a safe, timely, and efficient manner
- Prepare patients for examinations
- Greet and arrive the patient
- Follow patient verification protocol
- Provide high level of customer service
- Accurately obtain vitals including blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and temperature
- Accurately obtain patient height, weight, medication list, and allergies
- Assist with chart prep * Duties can vary by department. Training, validation, and documentation of competencies by a Registered Nurse or physician is required, prior to delegation of the tasks. Delegation of duties is not permitted until CMA/CNA has satisfactorily completed their 90-day probationary period.
- Maintain rooms, equipment and supplies
- Clean rooms and change linens per clinic policy
- Empty exam rooms of instruments that need to be cleaned secure nurse's station cabinets nightly
- Dispose of all biohazard material per clinic policy
- Sterilize and clean equipment and supplies per established protocols *The ability to sterilize requires appropriate training and sign off by a Registered Nurse or CST
- Ensure maintenance of equipment is maintained
- Clean exam room and nurses station counters and chairs per clinic policy
- Safety: Ensure Patient & Staff Safety
- Follow OSHA guidelines
- Follow universal precautions when caring for patients; Use PPE as directed
- Follow all PSC policies when caring for patients
- Provide wheelchairs and assist patients with ambulation as needed
- Ask for assistance when needed for lifting or transfer patients
- Ability to recognize mistakes and communicate immediately to supervising MD, DO, Clinical Lead and Dept Manager.
- Proactively Assist in Fiscal Management of Clinic Resources
- Assist with maintaining established par levels on regularly used supplies
- Avoid the need to over-night items or pay increased shipping fees for “rush orders”
- Notify manager or discuss with peers blocks of time when there are no appointments to maximize down time completing tasks that are difficult to due during a busy clinic
- Work Collaboratively to Promote Clinic Patient Volume
- Assist MD's, department manager and marketing with department promotions as needed
- Look for ways to expand the clinic services and patients. Discuss with department manager as needed.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
- Maintain a professional & cooperative relationship with all colleagues.
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to carry/lift twenty (20) pounds.
- Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one hundred (100) pounds.

Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
CMA Candidates
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program
- Current Medical Assisting Certification with no restrictions
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Knowledge of infection control, sterile technique and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting
- Use and apply medical terminology appropriately
- Thorough knowledge of general clinical principles, methodology and measures for outcomes
- Ability to communicate clearly & effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous & friendly manner at all times
- Current CNA Certification with no restrictions
- Current BLS Certification
- Knowledge of infection control and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting
- Use and apply medical terminology appropriately
- Thorough knowledge of general clinical principles, methodology and measures for outcomes
- Requires ability to stand for up to 8 hours a day, bend, reach, squat, kneel, move, and lift patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate clearly & effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous & friendly manner at all times
