What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intern-Tournament Operations-Seasonal position at Pinehurst Resort?
SUMMARY
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Golf Shop and Tournament Office staff with daily operations. Must be enrolled in a Professional Golf Management curriculum in order to qualify for internship.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
Attending a two or four year College or University with an accredited P.G.M. program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Good positive team attitude.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Assist the entire golf operations staff in performing duties relating to the daily operation of the golf shop.
- Responsible for daily opening and closing procedures. (bank, computer, etc.)
- Attend continuing education and cross-training programs.
- Assist with inventory control on a monthly basis.
- Assist in daily golf shop maintenance. (restocking, cleaning, reorganizing, etc.)
- Maintain and upkeep general golf shop supplies.
- Daily point of sale and scheduling tee times.
- Meet and exceed all guest expectations.
- Assist with corporate tournament preparation and execution.
- Responsible for Tournament Office data entry.
- Have a general knowledge of the Rules of Golf.
- Complete scoring and facilitate results at completion of all Tournaments.
- Work with member committees on member events.
- Assist in directing, training and scheduling volunteers for the North and South Amateurs.
- Handle email and telephone inquiries.
