What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Center Manager-Golf Course Maintenance-Exempt position at Pinehurst Resort?
SUMMARY
The Service Center Manager is responsible for training and the supervision of service technicians to perform the preventative maintenance and repair of all turf related equipment as well as the licensed vehicle fleet that serves the transportation department and various other departments throughout the resort. Further responsibilities include communicating to all departments regarding the status of vehicles that are being serviced and / or repaired.
The Service Center Manager will also have, in addition to the Main Service Center, responsibilities for all satellite course maintenance centers.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :
Associates Degree and a minimum of 10 years experience in managing agriculture and motor vehicle equipment fleets; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- This position involves driving a company vehicle and / or company insured vehicle. A valid drivers license is required, along with successful completion of a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and annual MVRs, according to company guidelines. Follow safe, defensive driving practices at all times, obey all traffic laws, regulations, signals and markings, use a seat belt, and follow Company policies and procedures, including the Substance Abuse Policy. Never drive while under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medications that may impair your ability to operate a vehicle safely, report any accidents immediately and cooperate fully with insurance claims investigations.
- Maintain a welcoming, clean and safe work environment for all Service Center locations.
- Maintain communication with other stakeholders on repair status of vehicle and equipment fleet.
- Develop and maintain operator and service tech safety training programs for all turf and grounds equipment fleet. Observe all safety and security procedures. Use equipment and material properly. Report potentially unsafe conditions.
- Order and maintain proper inventory levels for parts, tools and supplies needed.
- Establish and maintain preventive service records for Vehicle and Equipment fleet.
- Hire, train, and supervise individuals and manage vehicle and equipment fleet.
- Work closely with GC Superintendents to monitor quality control aspects related to mowing quality of all turf equipment.
- Work closely with GCM Admin Assistant to maintain Motor Vehicle records.
- Work closely with GC Superintendents on scheduling of shared equipment needs, surface grooming programs and related seasonal operations.
- Make recommendations for the purchase of new vehicles and equipment.
- Must stay abreast of technology.
- Must stay abreast of environmental regulations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
