PT Live-in Caregiver - Pinellas County

Job description

This particular client is a PART TIME Live-In Caregiver needed in Pinellas County, FL. The position requires you to be with male consumer 5pm Monday - 10 am Tuesday AND 5 pm Tuesday - 10 am Wednesday AND 5 pm Wednesday - 9 am Thursday AND 5 pm Thursday - 8 am Friday. At this point, your weekends are OFF.

Our office is in St Petersburg, FL but we have this Live In Opportunities in Clearwater. This PT Live-In caregiver will live and stay in our client's home. Our agency pays for the Live-in portion of rent and utilities. The live-in staff is responsible for their own groceries. You MAY work with other clients in our agency, go to school or work outside the home and still be eligible for this position.

Provide services to consumers to Live-In services through APD (adult person with disabilities ) and Pinellas Care Systems, Inc. Our agency provides services for the developmentally disabled. Level 2 background check is a requirement as well as free online APD educational courses.

A good working car for transportation is required as well as a valid driver's license, current car registration and car insurance. This is 24-hour care but you would be considered "off" during the middle of the day. Perfect opportunity to work with other clients in our agency, go to school or work outside the home

This type of care is used when the adult with a developmental disabilities lives in an independent environment. A live-in caregiver can fill that gap with both monitoring health and safety and providing companionship.

Having an in-home caregiver can help keep our client safe. A live-in caregiver will be there around the clock to help with the client’s physical and emotional needs depending on the clients prompt for bathing, dressing, and using the bathroom, maybe required

A few tasks in-home caregivers frequently assist with include:

• Personal care and grooming - Client requires monitoring and/or coaching to be sure she performs them effectively.
• Transportation to and from for socializing and life enrichment activities
• Meal planning and preparation (assist client to prepare and shop for well nourished meals).
• Light housekeeping - Assist/coach client to perform most duties effectively
• Help client meet requirements of her behavior contract and/or speech therapy

Salary: $111 day

Schedule:

• Holidays
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

- Previous experience in caregiving or related field preferred, willing to train
- Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility needs (if required for the person you serve)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients and circle of supports
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Reliable transportation
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
