What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Operator position at Pinellas Park Water Management District?
Nature of Work
This is labor-intensive crew performing routine semi-skilled work in general maintenance.
Employees in this class perform basic general maintenance duties. Some supervision by the Maintenance Supervisor is required with this position but not to the extent of a Laborer.
Assignments are made orally or in writing and all are reviewed through observation of results obtained, conferences and periodic reports or evaluations.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
High School Diploma or possession of a G.E.D.
Special Requirements
Possession and maintenance of a valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License with a status “B” with Air Brake Endorsement.
Must have skills of Laborer. Should be knowledgeable and qualified in Laborer duties.
Illustrative Tasks
Performs some cement work.
- Operates water pumps, mud pumps, etc.
- Lawn maintenance, string trim, mowing, riding mowers, ditch work.
- Ability to drive vehicle while pulling trailer.
- Bring to the attention of the Maintenance Supervisor any noticeable preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, machinery and tools.
- Maintain a safe and neat workplace.
- Operate single axle dump truck.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of basic lawn maintenance.
- Knowledge of basic lawn equipment.
- Ability to work from oral or written instructions.
- Ability to do heavy manual labor for extended periods, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
