Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Provides focused intervention for patients who are in need of mental health services.
- Talk, listen, observe and analyze patients and suggest a suitable mode of treatment.
- Provides complete documentation of visits and the patient’s progress in the medical record.
- Assist patients in need of developing daily and community living skills.
- Provides patients with self-management skills and education information needed so they can participate in their treatment.
- Perform short-term counseling and crisis intervention as necessary.
- Prepare psychosocial, and educational materials as needed or required.
- Coordinate with clinical, health education, community health, and other staff members in the provision of services to patients.
- Provide referrals for services needed.
- Provide any special services and related functions that are allowed under the State of Maine License to practice social work or psychology.
- Coordinate with other organizational entities involved in psychosocial and mental health services.
- Provide community service information as an outreach worker as required.
Additional Functions:
- Provide a welcoming environment for individuals seeking mental health, substance abuse, co-occurring, and community support.
- Provide integrated services in a manner that supports a client’s overall health and well-being.
- Assume other responsibilities as directed.
- Should have a strong commitment to the mission of Pines Health Services.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work appropriately.
Availability Requirements:
Monday through Friday, hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; hours may vary according to patient needs.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Masters Degree in Social Work or a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology.
Licenses: This position requires eligibility and Licensure as a Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist in the State of Maine with licensure as a social worker or clinical psychologist.
