Pines Village Retirement Communities, a non-profit, independent retirement community is seeking a Sous Chef to join our Dining Department. We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef with a background in restaurant management and food production, with the ability to assist in overseeing kitchen operations while ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service to our residents. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Executive Chef in menu planning, inventory and assist with supervising kitchen staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, menu planning and food production.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist with supervising kitchen staff, providing guidance to ensure efficient workflow.
- Monitor inventory levels
- Assist the Executive Chef with menu planning
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary role within a restaurant or senior living facility.
- Strong knowledge of food production techniques, kitchen management practices and catering concepts.
- Strong knife skills and understanding various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
- Excellent record of kitchen and staff management.
- Accuracy and patience in handling conflicts and providing solutions as they arise.
This is a full-time position, must be able to work Sunday thru Thursday from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm.
