Mississippi’s capital city of Jackson, emphasizing educating the head, heart and hands of every
student through academic achievement, community service and occupational skills. The Piney
Woods School endures today as the largest historically African American, independent, college
preparatory, boarding school in the country.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred (Associate’s degree
accepted). Demonstrates extensive work experience in the healthcare field.
Willingness to become certified in First Aid and CPR
Must be available to be on-call as needed and available to be present for
extracurricular activities (such as Basketball games, Fall festival, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Educating students on hygiene and safety practices
• Dispensing prescription medications to students per physician instructions
• Verifying vaccination records
• Taking students’ temperatures when fever is suspected
• Administering first aid and CPR
• Treating minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes and bruises
• Contacting parents when students are ill or injured
Additional Responsibilities:
Enforce students’ dress code and report violators
Enforce school discipline procedures
Serve on various committees
Carry out all school rules, policies, and procedures
Perform other related functions as requested by your supervisor(s) or other
school administrators
