Job Description: This is a Full-Time/Seasonal position with an expected average of 40 hours per week (varied schedule, possibly including nights and weekends). Monkey's fabrication team is seeking a dedicated and skilled Fabrication Specialist to support the design and execution of large-scale event installations. This position is based in our Salt Lake City, UT shop, with occasional onsite work for event installations and strikes. Monkey's shops are located in both Salt Lake City, UT and Silt, CO.
Time: Full Time position. The position is paid on an hourly basis and would report to the Fabrication Manager. Shop work hours are typically scheduled between 9am - 5pm on a standard work week though flexibility and the ability to work onsite for weekends during the busiest parts of the season are often needed.
Experience: 2-5 years professional experience working in a busy, carpentry, or fabrication shop.

- Execute fabrication for custom builds of all kinds
- Operate standard shop tools such as table saw, router, sanders, pneumatics and various hand power tools required in the fabrication and assembly of final products
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials
- Execute a project from start to finish, including carpentry, welding, finishing and painting
- Work independently as well as with a team to meet deadlines
- Some Travel onsite for installation and strike (often over weekends)

Essential Skills
- Strong construction and layout skills and the ability to read mechanical drawings
- Must have experience with a wide variety of hand and power tools
- Specifically Table saws, routers, planers, biscuit joiners, etc.
- A wide knowledge of fabrication materials
- An eye for detail and extreme accuracy
- Clean and safe working habits
- Professional attitude and organization skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Valid driver's license
- Strong candidates will have prior knowledge of wood framing, welding, finish carpentry and rigging
- Strong candidates will have a solid proficiency in MIG welding
- Strong candidates will have painting experience in brush, roll, and spray techniques
- Painting knowledge is a plus
- Experience driving cargo vans, pulling trailers and up to 26' Box Trucks is a plus
- CAD & Sketch Up knowledge is a plus
