Position Overview :

The Forecasting Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining accurate inventory and production forecasts to support sales goals and ensure manufacturing efficiency. This role requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional who can collaborate across departments, analyze large datasets, and recommend actionable solutions to optimize inventory levels and streamline production.

Goals & Key Objectives :

Process Documentation : Complete all process documentation.
Forecast Model Development : Create accurate forecasting models for all product categories (Sprinkles, diffuser oils, sprays, soaps, lotions, pet care products, etc.) to support purchasing and production timelines.
Seasonal Analysis : Conduct comprehensive seasonal inventory analysis and reporting :
In-Stock Rate Goal : Achieve a 97% in-stock rate by tracking stockouts and recommending proactive adjustments.
Labor Efficiency Analysis : Conduct twice-yearly full-season analyses to ensure a 90% labor efficiency rate.
Inventory Optimization : Maintain 5 months on-hand inventory across all manufactured items.

Key Responsibilities :

Forecasting & Analysis :

Develop and maintain robust inventory and production forecasting models to ensure adequate stock levels and minimize stockouts.

Analyze historical sales, production output, and market trends to provide accurate short-term and long-term demand forecasts.

Collaborate with the purchasing and sales teams to align forecasts with production schedules and sales targets.

Track out-of-stock (OOS) items, monitor timelines, and recommend adjustments to achieve inventory goals.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze inventory levels across all product categories for optimization.

Ensure bin optimization and distribution efficiency for manufactured goods.

Reporting & Insights :

Generate monthly inventory performance reports and dashboards to highlight key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.

Present findings and actionable recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.

Conduct detailed seasonal analyses and reports to ensure production and labor efficiency goals are met.

Collaborate with sales, purchasing, and production departments to identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce inefficiencies, and optimize workflows.

Technology Utilization :

Leverage Excel, and data analysis tools to enhance forecasting capabilities and streamline processes.

Stay updated on inventory management and forecasting technologies to improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency.

Develop and update documenting processes to support accurate forecasting and inventory planning.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

5 years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, & forecasting

5 inventory analysis within a product-based company.

Proven expertise in analyzing data, creating forecasting models, and optimizing production schedules.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP, etc.)

Experience working with ERP / MRP systems and inventory management software.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in a manufacturing or home fragrance product environment.

Experience with consumer goods, particularly product lifecycles for multiple SKUs.

Certification in data analysis, inventory management, or production planning is a plus.

Key Skills :

Forecasting and Statistical Modeling : Ability to build and interpret complex forecasting models.

Manufacturing Insight : Strong understanding of production workflows, lead times, and efficiency optimization.

Data Analysis & Reporting : Proven ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Problem-Solving : Critical thinking with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving forecasting challenges.

Collaboration : Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Time Management : Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Attention to Detail : High level of accuracy and precision in data analysis and reporting.
