PinkDx is initially focused on improving the diagnostic outcome for women who have vague symptoms that could signal a gynecological cancer. Each year in the United States, an estimated 1.5 million women present with general symptoms including bloating, pelvic pain and abnormal bleeding, for which the cause is not clear. Over 100,000 women in the U.S. are ultimately diagnosed with a gynecological cancer each year. PinkDx is developing solutions to replace invasive, painful diagnostic procedures and mitigate the significant delays women and their doctors often face in obtaining answers. Their first test will address a market between $2-3 billion.
PinkDx recently closed an upsized Series A round for $45M, which included Blue Cross Venture Fund in addition to the original syndicate of Catalio Capital Management, Mountain group Partners, The Production Board, Mayo Ventures, and Brooke Byers. This round closed on the back of enrollment commencing across 3 IRB-approved clinical trials, led by top institutions including Mayo Clinic, Columbia University and Houston Methodist Medical Center. The company, whose headquarters is in the San Francisco Bay area, has about 20 employees and is in growth mode.
We are hiring a Scientist III, Product Development to be a key member of the Product Development Team . This position will be responsible for developing NGS-based molecular diagnostic assays for use in clinical labs in collaboration with cross-functional groups. The successful candidate will have significant hands-on experience in advanced molecular genetic analysis technologies.

- PhD in Molecular Genetics or related discipline
- 6 years’ industry experience developing advanced molecular diagnostics assays
- Executes and interprets experiments enabling novel molecular diagnostic assays with supervision.
- Ensure faithful execution of SOPs and accurate and consistent recording of experimental methods, materials and results.
- Analyzes experimental results and forms conclusions based on molecular biology principles.
- Prepares written reports and presentations summarizing experimental results and presents to the R&D team.
- Supports research documentation, including reports, protocols and template worksheets as needed.
- Supports routine lab operations including ordering, equipment maintenance and safety inspection as needed.
- Ensure activities are conducted within internal and external guidelines and regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of advanced molecular genetic analysis technologies, including nucleic acid extraction, qPCR and multiplex PCR, and NGS library preparation and analysis.
- The ideal candidate will have experience developing and validating molecular diagnostic assays under design control.
- A proactive, solution-orientated mindset with excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with confidence presenting to cross-functional teams and upper management.
- Experience executing and developing molecular assays on automated liquid handling platforms is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent required.
- Familiarity with sequencing data analysis tools.
- Proficiency with statistical analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, JMP, or R.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task as needed in a start-up environment.
This position offers a salary range of 128 – 160 – 192K.
