Duties

• Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose medical conditions.
• Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as necessary.
• Perform surgical procedures with precision and care, utilizing aseptic techniques.
• Provide emergency and critical care for animals in need.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
• Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
• Collaborate with veterinary technicians to ensure effective animal restraint and handling during procedures.
• Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
• Handle a variety of species including dogs, cats, equine, and other domestic animals.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid veterinary license to practice in the state.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
• Experience or training in animal handling techniques, including dog handling and equine care.
• Proficiency in veterinary critical care practices and animal catheterization.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a compassionate approach towards animals.
