Job Summary
As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to expectant mothers during childbirth. You will work closely with the healthcare team to ensure safe deliveries and optimal outcomes for both mother and baby.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the progress of labor and vital signs of the mother and baby
- Assist with pain management techniques and comfort measures
- Administer medications as prescribed by the physician
- Educate patients on prenatal care, breastfeeding, and newborn care
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans
- Prepare mothers for delivery and assist during the birthing process
- Provide postpartum care and support to new mothers
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Previous experience in labor and delivery or obstetrics is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of sonography, mammography, trauma medicine, critical care transport, outpatient care, dermal fillers, specimen collection processing, case management systems is a plus
