GENERAL SUMMARY:
Edgewater Insurance has 16 locations across NE and KS. The Benkelman, NE location has 30 years of experience of serving the tri-state area. If you have insurance experience and/or an agricultural background, that is a plus, but ultimately, we are looking to add another high energy, customer service-oriented individual; we are willing to train for the entire scope of the job.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Assists Senior Customer Service Representative with servicing customer account including phone calls and walk in customers.
  • Completes insurance proposals and quotes for agents and producers.
  • Issues binders, endorsements, cancellations/reinstatement notices, etc.
  • Prepares and distributes certificates of insurance.
  • Maintain accounts on agency management system.
  • Processes insurance claims and loss notices.
  • Assistant Senior Customer Service Representative with renewals.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Assists with other job related duties as assigned by manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of insurance products and services.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Agency Software.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to multi-task, and function as a team player.
  • Ability to work with accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate various office machines including switchboard, adding machine, copy machine, etc.
  • Ability to cross-sell insurance products.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Willing to train and obtain licensure in property/casualty, crop, and life/health.
  • Agency will pay for expenses related to licensures and will bonus upon completion.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Seeing: 75-100%
Must be able to read documents, use computer
Hearing: 75-100%
Must be able to communicate with customers and co-workers in person and on the telephone
Standing/Walking: 25-49%
Must be able to visit with the customers, go to areas of the office to use copier & fax machines, etc.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 25-49%
Must be able to kneel or stoop to file in cabinets
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: 75-100%
Must be able to use computer, write and handle paperwork


PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Job involves sitting most of the time and if walking and standing is required, only occasionally.
