Job Summary
The Mortgage Banker is responsible for originating and supporting all aspects of mortgage department production. The team member will build relationships internally with the branch and other internal employees to promote and fulfill internal mortgage loan referrals.
The employee will support the bank's strategic goals, vision, mission, core values, service standards and service philosophy in actions, words and deeds.

Mortgage originator experience or related sales experience required.

Bank Secrecy
Must know how to read financial statements. This includes the balance sheet, profit & loss statement, and cash flow statement.
Must be able to identify and interpret trends in financial data.
Must have a working knowledge of compliance guidelines for the bank and the industry
Broad, general knowledge of insurance products
Must understand loan and commitment letters.
Must understand the appropriate loan documentation as related to all mortgage loans

Must be able to do the following sales functions
Prospecting for new clients
Obtaining appointments by telephone and in person
Conducting interviews with prospects and clients
Analyzing information to narrow the product selection process

Closing (facilitating action steps to complete buying transactions)
Post-sale follow up
Asking for referrals
Tracking new business through completion and payment to the bank
Initiating communications with vendors on behalf of clients
Document and maintain records of all transactions and communications with clients
Keeping records of sales results
Must have knowledge and experience with mortgage related Software.
