Position Overview
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT) to deliver high-quality rehabilitative care to patients in their homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating and developing patient care plans and conducting periodic reassessments.
- Document clinical and daily progress notes for PT review and submission.
- Perform therapeutic exercises and assist patients with self-help devices.
- Instruct patients and families on therapy exercises alongside the PT.
- Monitor and report adverse drug reactions or ineffective therapies to the PT.
- Observe, document, and report clinical findings to the PT and physician as needed.
- Coordinate with PT and nursing staff on patient discharge plans and summaries.
- Educate health team members and families to support patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with agency policies.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Licensed PTA in Florida with current BLS certification.
- Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.
- One year of home healthcare experience preferred (new grads welcome to apply).
- Experience with electronic medical records is a plus.
- Strong physical stamina and excellent communication skills.
