JOB TITLE: CASEY HOUSE - TEAM LEAD

PROGRAM: Casey House

STATUS: Full-Time, (35 hours per week)

FLSA DESIGNATION: Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Residential Manager

DEGREE: High School Diploma with at least 3 years relevant experience or Associates Degree

EXPERIENCE: Experience working with at-risk youth in a residential setting preferred.

Supervisory experience strongly preferred

SALARY RANGE: $16.70/Hour


OVERVIEW:

The Casey House Team Lead is responsible for supporting the Agency initiative of providing a safe, secure and efficient environment for those in Casey House Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter while promoting positive youth development; in addition to demonstrating knowledge of the Mission and services of Pinnacle Community Services, Inc. (PCS).


AGENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexible schedule
  • Availability to include 4 weeknights and 1 weekend shift; subject to change based on Program need
  • Annual physical

AGENCY EXPECTATIONS:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the program, Mission, and services of PCS.
  • Complies with all policies and procedures of PCS (including NASW Code of Ethics, Collective Bargaining Agreement, and Corporate Compliance policies) and all governmental and legal requirements.
  • Attends and participates in appropriate Agency staff trainings and meetings.
  • Advocates for cultural diversity/sensitivity as appropriate.
  • Reports all suspected incidences of child abuse/neglect to NYS Hotline with supervisory notification.
  • Experience and knowledge on the use of computers, cell phones, and a broad understanding of using the Internet and e-mail in the workplace.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for all youth in residence at all times.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls from the public, assesses crisis situations and takes appropriate action in a polite and welcoming manner.
  • Conducts intakes as needed and ensures that all admission procedures are completed in a thorough and legible manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all client information, identity, and documentation.
  • Introduces and orients youth to all residential procedures including HIV/AIDS precautions, child abuse recourse, fire safety, resident guidelines and other assigned tasks as directed.
  • Sustains availability, punctuality and consistency in reporting for scheduled work shifts to assure coverage.
  • Conducts and assures daily logs/documents are fulfilled per shift needs; including but not limited to education log, free time, communication binder.
  • Assists and reports maintenance needs to Resident Manager to ensure a healthy and safe environment for youth in residence.
  • Maintains awareness of the whereabouts and safety of all youth both residents and LEAP/Transitional/Drop-in Youth at Casey House at all times.
  • Assisting residents with meal prepping, cooking dinner, and daily menus.
  • Refers youth to Residential Manager, Case Manager or Program Director for LEAP/Transitional Services.
  • Assist in developing, implementing and coordinating Positive Youth Development evening activities for residents.
  • Support and assist Residential Manager with monthly schedule assuring proper coverage as changes arise.
  • Rotate with other program staff to provide 24/7 emergency coverage.
  • Provide Residential Manager/Program Director with 24 hour on-call availability by phone.
  • Provide support and encouragement to Resident Care Workers as directed by Residential Manager.
  • Assist Residential Manager with disciplinary decisions regarding youth in residence who do not comply with the Casey House Placement Agreement.
  • Assist Residential Manager with staff training and materials in compliance with OCFS requirements.
  • Assists Case Manager/Residential Manager with case management for youth in residence as directed.
  • Monitors RCW daily paperwork to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Completes 40-hour mandated training requirements per OCFS as well as all other mandated trainings.
  • Participates actively in ongoing professional development as required.
  • Handles transportation duties on occasion, as directed by Supervisor.
  • Meets on a regular, planned basis with the Residential Manager for supervision.
  • Performs other duties assigned by Administration.
