JOB PURPOSE
The Controller is responsible for overseeing global financial procedures and systems, ensuring effective financial control, and safeguarding company assets, including automated systems. This position supports the Global Corporate Controller (GCC) in preparing and analyzing financial statements, implementing strong internal controls, and managing financial reporting, cost accounting, and technical accounting functions. In addition to global coordination, the Controller directly manages accounting operations and serves as the key liaison with external auditors, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and providing guidance on new accounting directives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional accounting certification required.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in international accounting and finance, including leadership roles.
- Proficient in managing complex international accounting environments with multiple subsidiaries, currencies, and accounting standards.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to drive team performance and foster a positive, growth-oriented work environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
ROLE OVERVIEW
- Lead, coordinate, and standardize accounting processes globally.
- Assess, develop, and implement strategies to ensure IFRS compliance.
- Create and enforce policies and procedures to support robust internal controls.
- Prepare and deliver quarterly financial reports to the parent company.
- Act as a deputy to the Global Corporate Controller as needed.
STAKEHOLDER INTERACTIONS
- Regular engagement with corporate finance leadership and regional directors.
- Consistent collaboration with senior executives to align accounting practices and reporting.
- Liaison with both external and internal auditors.
- Coordination with diverse operational departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE COMPETENCIES
- Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures to ensure IFRS compliance and accurate financial reporting.
- Manage internal control frameworks to protect company assets and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Supervise the implementation of efficient automated accounting systems and ensure the accuracy of both manual and automated financial data.
- Oversee the preparation of IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements, including for international subsidiaries.
- Approve and monitor capital expenditures (CAPEX) and warranty reserves.
- Handle cost accounting and pension accounting in line with IFRS standards.
- Review monthly financial activities, including progress billings, in partnership with the treasury department.
- Manage commissions, incentives, and budget write-off schedules, making adjustments as necessary.
- Provide oversight for technical accounting matters, supported by the technical accounting manager.
- Ensure the timely completion of quarterly financial reports for the parent company.
- Coordinate external audit processes, supplying required documentation and analyses to support audit timelines.
- Oversee quarterly and annual external audit activities.
- Utilize advanced tools and automation to streamline the preparation of statutory financial statements and related disclosures.
- Act as the primary contact for accounting-related matters across the organization, collaborating with global teams to maintain consistency and share insights.
- Lead special projects assigned by the CFO and/or Global Corporate Controller.
