About the Role
The Laboratory Coordinator plays an essential role in supporting patients through their fertility journey by ensuring smooth communication, organization, and logistical coordination between patients, clinical teams, and laboratories. As a Laboratory Coordinator, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care and ensure seamless laboratory operations.
We are seeking a Laboratory Coordinator to join our dedicated team at Seattle Reproductive Medicine, located in Seattle, WA. This is a full-time, onsite position, working Monday - Friday with a schedule starting between 7:00-8:00 AM and ending between 3:30-5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for laboratory communications, handling incoming calls and emails, triaging, and following up as needed.
- Respond to patient and staff questions regarding lab services, resolving concerns and addressing complaints.
- Coordinate biological material shipments, working with patients, facilities, couriers, and Embryologists to manage documentation and logistics.
- Manage MyEggBank shipments and coordinate inventory for recipient cycles.
- Counsel patients on specimen disposition options and assist with consent documentation, including special cases like divorce or the death of a spouse.
- Prepare patient charts, labels, and petri dishes for IVF, FET, and egg thaw procedures.
- Attend daily Rounds Meetings for Lab and OR procedure scheduling, prioritizing based on Embryology needs.
- Review active treatment plans for completeness and follow up on missing orders or special requirements.
- Assist with dish setup of media for biopsy and ICSI procedures, and support biopsy verification processes.
- Manage ordering and inventory of equipment and clinical supplies for Embryology, Andrology, and Endocrine departments, including vendor communication and invoice approval.
- Ensure adherence to infection control policies and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) experience preferred.
- 2 years in a management or coordination role preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills.
- Familiarity with office equipment (scanner, computer, fax, copier).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $23.00-$34.00 per hour (final offers based on experience, skills, and qualifications).
