- Tenth grade or above desirable
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Experience in dietary department, large volume food preparation and service preferred.
- Demonstrates professional conduct and ethics according to Kindred policy and procedure.
- Performs job duties safely as specified in the physical, sensory and mental requirements.
- Must be able to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Prepares patient trays according to instructions/order.
- Employs proper food handling techniques whether in preparation of food or setting up or serving trays.
- Cleans, washes and sanitizes dishes, silverware and utensils used to service patients and others.
- Assists in maintaining the general cleanliness of the dishwashing area.
- Cleans work area and equipment as assigned.
- Puts up stock in food storage areas and refrigerators as assigned.
- Delivers food, nourishments and supplies to nursing units, other areas as assigned.
- Performs duties using proper infection control techniques and using protective equipment as needed.
- Performs all duties using proper safety techniques.
- Essential to attend and participate in in-service education opportunities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques.
- Ability to read and write in English at a level appropriate for the job.
