Pinnacle Health and Rehab at Sanford, an 86-bed skilled and long-term care facility in Sanford, Maine is accepting applications for Director of Nursing Services to lead our nursing team. The ideal candidate will possess great leadership skills, be intuitive, and enjoy caring for our staff and residents with a commitment to delivery of quality care for all.
Under the supervision of the Administrator, the Director of Nursing manages the overall operations of the Nursing Department in accordance with facility policies, standards of nursing practices and government regulations while assuring that quality care is delivered in an efficient and compassionate manner. Candidates must be strong advocates for excellent resident care, have excellent customer service skills, and clear communication abilities.
Duties include but are not limited to:
RN License in the State of Maine
Management in a skilled nursing facility setting, minimum 2 years
Director of Nursing, 2 years or more preferred

- Develop and maintain nursing service philosophy, objectives, standards of practice, policies and procedures
- Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of rules and regulations pertaining to skilled nursing facilities
- Oversee quality assurance program for nursing department
- Demonstrate dedication to staff and residents by knowing each resident and their individualized needs, providing opportunities for recognizing a job well done by staff and implementing support programs
- Represent the facility to residents, physicians, family members and the community
- Ensure nursing staff have appropriate competencies and ongoing skills training
- Ensure quality of care with the best possible outcomes for all residents
- Monitor progress on survey compliance issues when deficiencies are noted
- Build a strong team environment by working with the Administrator and Department Heads to set outstanding leadership examples
RN License in the State of Maine
