The Life Enrichment Specialists implement, coordinate and direct therapeutic and educational programs that enhance the daily life experiences of the residents of Affinity Healthcare.
Life Enrichment offers both leisure and life skills including but are not limited but art, music, culinary skills, medication management, communication skills, outdoor activities, exercise, and other special activities/events.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate group and individualized programming and activities for residents that are designed to meet the social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual needs and interest of each participant.
- Assist in the development of individual weekly goals and interventions
- Participate in treatment plans, therapeutic activity plans and treatment interventions for the residents assigned to your care
- Document resident behaviors, response to behavioral interventions and therapeutic interventions, outcomes and achievements consistent with the overall treatment plan
- Escorting or transporting patients inside the facility or to appointments off campus
- Provide effective behavioral and crisis intervention as needed for residents who may become a danger to themselves or others
- Assist in the development of the monthly activities calendar and special events.
- Escorts, transports and assists patients to and from treatment interventions, therapeutic activities and recreation within and outside of the facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: At a minimum high school diploma, associates degree or Activity Assistant Certification from a recognizing body such as NCCAP, or NAPPCC
- Experience : Minimum of 1 year experience in a social or recreational program, of which was full time in an activities/life enrichment program in a healthcare setting for the residents with neurological and behavioral health diagnoses.
- Skills: Must possess effective written and verbal command of English language, and non-verbal communication skills. Proficient in the use of computer and technology systems. Must be very outgoing, energetic, and able to engage participants in leisure activities. Professional conduct, high-achiever, emotionally intelligent/and aware.
- Able to engage with large resident gatherings.
- Ability to work effectively with residents of various ages, mental competence, and physical disabilities
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques to deescalate conflicts in a manner that keeps staff and patients safe
- Observational skills to pick up on changes in symptoms and behaviors
- Strong oral communication skills to interact effectively with staff and residents
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to meet physical demands of lifting and moving 5- 10 pounds per job assignment. Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of the time per job assignments. Able to transport wheelchairs per job assignment
