Client:
Our client is a well-established single-family office in Seattle that manages a diversified portfolio of traditional and alternative investments. The group invests via funds and direct investments in all asset classes.
Opportunity:
They are currently seeking an Associate to join their private equity investment team. The private equity portfolio is comprised of fund, direct, and co-investments across a wide range of sectors and stages. This position involves working directly with the Private Equity Portfolio Manager to oversee existing investments and to source and review new potential investments.
Responsibilities:
- New investment evaluation, including screening, analysis, modeling, and execution for all potential new investments
- Preparation of investment recommendations and due diligence findings to internal committees
- Develop views within the overall space to decide the best areas to focus efforts
- Flexibility to explore a wide variety of areas of opportunity and interest
- Monitoring existing portfolio investments to review performance vs. expectations, and prepare portfolio and deal reporting packages
- Engage with partners and/or management to find ways to add value to the portfolio
- Role will also include a variety of projects such as broader portfolio analysis, deep dives of targeted sectors, and other research projects
Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of investment or financial experience, with desire to invest in private equity
- Bachelor's degree, ideally in relevant fields such as finance, accounting, or economics
- Demonstrated financial modeling and diligence skills
- Knowledge around and experience in various stages of a transaction process
- Self-starter who will take initiative and can work independently within a small team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate viewpoints
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Preference for candidates with existing relationships with private investment firms and other relevant third parties
- MBA or CFA a plus
