Key responsibilities of an RN Supervisor:
Staff Management:
Assign nursing tasks to staff based on patient needs and skill levels
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback, including coaching and development opportunities.
Conduct staff evaluations and address performance concerns.
Create and manage staff schedules.
Participate in hiring and onboarding new nurses.
Patient Care Oversight:
Regularly assess patient conditions and review medical records to ensure quality
care.
Monitor medication administration and treatment plans
Respond to patient emergencies and coordinate necessary interventions
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated
patient care
Clinical Quality Assurance:
Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives related to nursing practice
Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and policies
Conduct incident reports and investigate patient safety concerns
Administrative Duties:
Utilize various computer programs to prepare and submit required reports and
documentation
Manage unit budget and resource allocation
Participate in staff meetings and departmental updates
Address patient and family concerns
Required Skills:
Strong clinical knowledge and nursing skills:
Expertise in patient assessment, medication administration, and complex
medical conditions
Leadership abilities:
