Position Summary – 2nd Shift - CNC Setup Machinist
Pinnacle Precision Sheet Metal is currently seeking individuals who are experienced in 3 & 5 axis Machining operations. This role is responsible for assuring the efficient operation of day-to-day machining tasks which include setting up machines, in-process checks of machined features, edge-breaking for handling purposes, offsets when needed, tool set up/checks and timely communication of all concerns/issues.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Setting up CNC Mills
- Confirms proper router and drawing to correct revision
- Reviews the program specifications to determine the sequence of set-up operations and dimensions of finished product
- Establishes a strong and reliable set-up for operators to follow, as well as fills out the proper instructions for the operator to follow
- Verify/meet expected cycle times and production expectations daily
- Keep scrap to 2% minimum
- Validate part quality through IPIC chart completion and verification
- Ensure tooling / back-up tooling is adequate
- Organization/cleanliness of work areas including support of a 5S program
- Work in close collaboration with our programming and operations teams
- Support a culture of employee engagement, team success, accountability and buy-in of company objectives
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications and perform inspections using tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc for incoming inspection, in-process validation and final inspection as needed.
- Continually Inspect and document machined dimensions of work to assure conformance to drawings and customer requirements.
Qualifications
- 5 years minimum experience with 3 & 4 axis CNC machining centers.
- Able to read and interpret detailed, engineered drawings.
- Able to use precision inspection tools to verify work.
- Work independently as well as promoting a team environment.
- Must be a US citizen and able to read & write in English.
Wage dependent on skills and other qualifications
