Position Summary – Operations Manager
The Operations Manager is a key member of the leadership team and will have primary responsibility for providing leadership and coordination of all disciplines supporting the manufacturing functions. The focus of the role is to lead operational excellence, support the business in achieving profitable revenue growth, and develop core manufacturing competencies.
The Operations Manager is responsible for all shop floor manufacturing operations and requires a “Hands-On” leader to interact in all manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will have significant manufacturing and operations experience in a high mix, low volume, made to order environment with demonstrated success in driving optimization across several manufacturing cells and departments. This individual will readily understand and translate business goals into strategic operational initiatives.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire production process and ensure production targets are met.
- Coordinate production activities and operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Implement and maintain quality control standards.
- Manage production budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement production schedules and plans.
- Monitor production processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Resolve any production issues or delays promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth production operations.
- Train and supervise production staff.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports.
- Ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of production equipment.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure continuous improvement in production processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production management.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in production management software and tools.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Experience in budget management and cost control.
- Ability to implement and monitor KPIs.

Education
- Degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
- Effective communicator (written and verbal) with all levels of employees.
- Experienced in customer inquiries and interact with Sales and Engineering teams.
- Current and experienced level: MRP, Excel, MS Office.
- Six Sigma / Lean Certifications a plus
