Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and analyze claims for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that all necessary documentation is included.
- Communicate with vendors and clients, providing updates on claims status and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Conduct thorough investigations into claims by gathering evidence, reviewing claims, and consulting relevant parties to determine their validity.
- Classify claims based on type (e.g., transportation damage, spoilage) and conduct a detailed investigation to determine the root causes.
- Handle the processing of claims, ensuring that all steps comply with company policies and procedures while maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Keep accurate and organized records of claims, correspondence, and related documents for easy retrieval and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports on claims activity, trends, and outcomes for management.
- Collaborate with legal teams in preparation for litigation or arbitration related to disputed claims.
- Keep up to date with changes in insurance legislation, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance. Identify potential risks and recommend preventive measures to minimize future claims.
Qualifications
- Must have previous claims experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and research skills.
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
