Job Summary:
Our client is a family-owned company headquartered in Irvine, California, and is one of the largest food supply companies in the USA, operated by a team of driven, customer-oriented, experienced individuals. We utilize our extensive experience spanning all aspects of the food industry from farming to purchasing to freight and logistics. They are expanding at an exponential rate and are looking for an experienced FP&A Manager to help drive the financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes to drive informed decision-making and operational excellence. This position serves as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations to optimize financial performance and support the company's growth objectives. The candidate should have experience working within a smaller or start up environment that requires a hands on mindset with the ability to help scale the finance and accounting department whilst keeping up with the demands of a rapidly expanding company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and operational needs.
- Develop and maintain accurate financial models to support rolling forecasts, scenario planning, and variance analyses.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify key financial metrics and develop data visualizations that effectively communicate insights, trends, and impacts from strategic decisions.
- Provide cost analysis and recommendations to help the business optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of processes and expenditures.
- Assist in the preparation and review of RFPs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure financial data and projections are accurately reflected in proposals.
- Act as the primary liaison with banks, lenders, and other financial institutions. Oversee loan covenants, compliance, and negotiations related to credit facilities and financing agreements.
- Partner with stakeholders to optimize pricing strategies.
- Lead efforts to design and implement automation solutions for financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis, streamlining workflows, improving data accuracy, and increasing reporting efficiency.
- Assist in evaluating financial due diligence findings on potential M&A targets to identify key areas of accounting risk, as well as target's legacy compliance with US GAAP.
- Work with key stakeholders to develop and execute comprehensive integration plans that maximize value, achieve synergies, and ensure smooth transitions.
- Support tax strategy and compliance.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders on financial strategy and personal initiatives.
- Supervise and mentor an FP&A team, fostering professional development and collaboration. Establish clear objectives and accountability within the department.
- Support ad-hoc finance and accounting initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in finance or accounting or equivalent required, Masters a plus.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, and leadership roles,preferably in food manufacturing, food distribution or related industry.
- Experience having worked on numerous successful M&A transactions from start to finish.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis using Excel, as well as experience with financial software and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of the logistics, supply chain, or food and beverage manufacturing industry, including trends, key players, and regulatory landscape, is highly desirable.
Salary : $130 - $170
