Full-Time Funds Manager

Location : Bakersfield, CA

Our client, a well-established organization serving individuals in need across various social service sectors, is seeking a Funds Manager for their male community reentry program (MCRP). The role is based in Bakersfield, CA and focuses on managing financial accounts for residents transitioning from confinement settings. This position is full-time with regular hours, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Job Summary :

The Funds Manager will report to the Program Director and oversee the trust funds for residents within the MCRP. This position involves ensuring the proper management and disbursement of funds, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting residents in managing their financial stability and savings goals. The Funds Manager plays a key role in assisting individuals reentering society by providing financial services that promote long-term independence.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Fund Management : Collect and record resident paychecks, issue receipts, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Disbursement of Funds : Manage and distribute funds in compliance with regulations, assisting residents with necessary expenses during reintegration.
  • Restitution Collection : Collect restitution from resident wages, ensure timely payments, and submit detailed reports to authorities.
  • Account Maintenance : Track and update financial transactions using accounting software and the Automated Reentry Management System (ARMS).
  • Savings and Budgeting Support : Ensure residents funds are appropriately saved and assist with developing savings plans to meet their financial goals.
  • Bank Reconciliation : Conduct regular reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Collaborate with external partners, including the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and banking institutions.
  • On-Site Presence : Maintain an on-site presence during scheduled work hours to provide support and ensure accurate financial record-keeping.

Job Requirements :

  • Education : High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors degree in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Experience : Minimum of two years experience in fund management, bookkeeping, or accounting.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software; intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Organizational Skills : Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently manage multiple accounts and transactions.
  • Communication : Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with residents while maintaining clear and accurate financial records.
  • Additional Requirements : Valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation. Must pass criminal background check, pre-employment physical, drug screen, and TB test.
  • Pay Range : $19.71 - $25.94 per hour (based on experience)

    Work Type : Temp-To-Hire

    Benefits Package : Includes medical, dental, vision, Employee Assistance Program, and pension fund, along with additional voluntary benefits.

    Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM.

    Salary : $20 - $26
