Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Wireless Network Engineer to join our team in Sparks, NV. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in designing, deploying, and maintaining wireless network solutions with a focus on 802.11 standards, RF engineering, and multi-vendor wireless technologies. The candidate will work on troubleshooting complex wireless issues, ensuring optimal performance for voice, video, and data applications, and implementing secure and scalable wireless infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain wireless network solutions based on IEEE 802.11 standards.
• Perform RF engineering tasks, including wireless planning and coverage optimization.
• Configure and manage wireless controllers, access points, and related technologies from vendors such as Aruba Networks, Mist, and Meraki.
• Implement and support security measures, including WIDS, rogue detection, 802.1x, RADIUS, and EAP-TLS.
• Utilize wireless tools such as Spectrum Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer, and Ekahau Site Survey Tools for troubleshooting and optimization.
• Support wireless networks for voice and video applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Develop scripts to automate infrastructure deployment and collect performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve high-level, complex technical issues.
• Document processes and prepare reports using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Mandatory Skills:

1. Wireless Networking Expertise:
• In-depth knowledge of IEEE 802.11 standards, encryption protocols, WIDS, 802.1x, RADIUS, and EAP-TLS.
• Experience in RF engineering for wireless planning.
• Expertise in multi-vendor wireless technologies, including:
• Aruba Networks controller (AOS8)
• Aruba I/AP, ClearPass, and Airwave
• Mist wireless
• Meraki wireless
• Splunk
2. Wireless Tools Proficiency:
• Hands-on experience with tools such as:
• Spectrum Analyzer
• Protocol Analyzer
• Ekahau Site Survey Tools
3. Network Protocols:
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP layer protocols.
4. Application Support:
• Experience supporting wireless networks for voice and video applications.
5. Scripting & Automation:
• Proficiency in developing scripts to automate infrastructure deployment and collect metrics.
6. Documentation Tools:
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio for reporting and documentation.
