Location: Syracuse, NY

Job Summary:

We are conducting a search for an experienced Staff Accountant to provide accounting support to the Controller and CFO of an established manufacturer in the Syracuse area. The selected candidate will play a key role in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable:

• Process invoices, credit memos, and freight invoicing.
• Update inventory records for shipping.
• Post payments and resolve discrepancies such as short or missed payments.

Accounts Payable:

• Verify receiving reports and perform 3-way matching.
• Code and enter invoices into the accounting system.

General Accounting & Administrative Support:

• Assist the Accounting Manager with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and copying as needed.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) with at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing accounting setting.
• Associate’s degree in Accounting with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing accounting.
• Candidates with degrees in Finance, Economics, or Information Systems will be considered if they have relevant accounting experience.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent research and record-keeping abilities.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Teams, and Excel.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
