Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for performing various semi-complex inspection requirements in a team environment. This role involves maintaining precise inspection records, determining acceptance or rejection of parts, and ensuring compliance with applicable specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date acceptance and rejection records/certifications.
- Inspect parts, tools, instruments, and x-ray film to determine acceptance or rejection.
- Identify defective conditions and test failures, documenting all findings.
- Utilize a wide variety of measuring instruments to inspect machined parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, including complex geometric tolerances and dimensions.
- Develop inspection set-ups for sample parts, forgings, and castings.
- Conduct first article and envelope inspections, source inspections, and surface plate set-ups.
- Interpret specifications, charts, manuals, and engineering data for compliance verification.
- Ensure all assembled products meet cosmetic, dimensional, and identification requirements.
- Measure and layout hole locations and centerlines on various parts to maintain control during manufacturing.
- Investigate customer return failures and support source inspections as necessary.
- Maintain and segregate non-conforming material while keeping precise written inspection records.
- Provide technical support and training on measurement techniques.
Additional Responsibilities:

Job Qualifications & Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of advanced geometric experience in complex inspections.
- Knowledge of aerospace products, specifications, and requirements preferred.
- Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficiency in reading complex blueprints, route sheets, and test/customer specifications.
- Working knowledge of shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Visual inspection skills, including color distinction.
- Experience with CMM operations and ANSI Y 14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Level II Nondestructive Test Inspector certification in accordance with MIL-STD-410 and PES1-29 may be required.
- Knowledge of applicable military standards and specifications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must pass solder inspection certification and FAA/DOT Random Drug and Alcohol Program requirements.
Work Environment:
- The role requires adherence to safety regulations and handling of sensitive aerospace components.
- Ability to interact with auditors, customers, and regulatory bodies as required.
