Job Title: Production Tech
Duration: 6 months contract(can be extended)
Location: Orangeburg, NY 10962
Shift: Mon – Fri 1st shift - 7am-3:30pm
Mon – Fri 2nd shift - 3:30pm-12am
Job Description:
Specific Duties:
- Surfacing: Taping and blocking the lenses, generating, polishing, and lens washing.
- Surfacing Blocker: Operate the blocking machine to securely attach a block to all lenses going through the surfacing department. Use taping equipment to apply protective tape to the front of the lenses.
Essential Functions:
- Use blocking machine for lens security.
- Operate taping equipment to apply protective tape.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- High mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read/write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
- Experience working in a role with measurable standards and a dynamic production environment.
- Depth perception and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Previous experience in an optical lab production environment is strongly preferred but not required.
Physical Demands:
- Stand/walk for the duration of the shift.
- Lift and move up to 15 lbs. above shoulder height and waist high unaccompanied.
- Work environment may be noisy and involve working with or around chemicals.
- Work area may be wet/dirty and/or have a strong smell.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
- Warehouse: 2 years (Preferred)
- production operator: 1 year (Preferred)
- Laboratory: 1 year (Preferred)
- Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)
