As a Lead Nurse, you will be responsible for providing medical services directly to patients and for maintaining the appropriate records and medical files per State and Federal regulations. You will assist with the development and changes of policies and procedures for medication administration as well as oversight of the pharmacy. You will promote Performance Improvement and service delivery that is aligned with the agency’s primary mission
Pay Range:
- $26 to $30 per hour

Requirements:

Active and current California nursing / technician license (includes Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Licensed Psychiatric Technician), along with current CPR and first aid certification.

No prior inquiries or license revocation

Must have CPR and First Aid Certification from The American Heart Association within 30 days of employment.
Preferred
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years related nursing practice.
Responsibilities:
-
Oversight of nursing and medical assistant team including medication services, admissions, and lab services.

Develop schedule for nursing and medical assistant team and provide coverage when necessary to fill gaps to ensure all shifts are covered within the facility.

Provide oversight of inventory, ordering, receiving and accountability of medication/inventory control in conjunction with the other pharmacy personnel as required by the DEA and state regulatory bodies.

Work with pharmacist, ED, on inventory control and balance verification.

Ensure that the Diversion Control Plan is in place and is always enforced.

Work with other members of the leadership team on DEA, State and CARF Inspections/surveys and preparation for inspections.

Administer/dispense medication under the direction of the physician.

Ensure the treatment plan of the physician or Medical Director is being followed.

Place and interpret Mantoux Testing.

Oversee Medication Call Backs for Patients, including making the calls and training staff nurse(s) in how to conduct them.

Make appointments for patients to see physicians, provide lab work and referrals for additional follow-up care.

Assist in training staff in medical, health, and safety matters, as well as assist in properly maintaining medical equipment.

Maintain all medical records including, but not limited to, individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, Doctor’s orders, etc., as required.

Maintain contact with community medical personnel.

Assist in the development and revision of policies and procedures for medication compliance.

Provide training for staff development specific to health care needs i.e., CPR, First Aid, Vital Signs, Narcan, Blood draws, etc.

Purchasing and ordering medical supplies as needed.

Educate patients about methadone maintenance and detoxification as well as side effects and provides education to patients on lab results and all medical matters.

Educate pregnant patients about prenatal care and assist primary counselor in coordinating outside services as needed.

Discuss with physicians and staff important changes in treatment or noted patterns of behavior affecting treatment.

Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.
