As a Medical Biller you are responsible to verify patient eligibility and authorizations, ensure patients information is correctly updated in Electronic Medical Records system, verify integrity of claims, prepare and send electronic files, invoices and other requisite documentation, analyze and resubmit any denied claims, receive, interpret and post EOBs and payments, and follow up with payers to ensure claims are processed and paid on a timely basis.
Employment Requirement:
- 3-5 years of billing experience, experience with Commercial Insurance/Medicare or substance abuse/mental health is a plus
- Experience in collecting outstanding balances and working with payers and intermediaries
- Strong computer skills including the knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially in Excel
- Must be extremely organized, task oriented, and motivated
- Be able to prioritize daily work and meet monthly cycle deadlines
- Must possess excellent communication skills with management and be a team player
- Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast changing environment
- Strong verbal, written, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities consists of but not limited to:
- Verify patient eligibility and authorizations, and ensure patients information is correctly updated in Electronic Medical Records system
- Verify integrity of claims, prepare and send electronic files, invoices and other requisite documentation
- Work closely with Aegis clinics to ensure patients are accurately registered in payer systems when applicable
- Analyze and resubmit any denied claims
- Receive, interpret and post EOBs and payments
- Monthly follow up with payers to ensure claims are processed and paid on a timely basis
- Other related duties as assigned
