The Nursing Assistant – Wound Care plays a vital role in supporting wound care providers by assisting with patient preparation, documentation, and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities:
• Assist the wound care provider with clinical documentation and data entry into the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
• Ensure patients are properly prepared for consultations, optimizing workflow for the wound care provider.
• Support patient repositioning during wound care evaluations and treatments as needed.
• Manage and maintain inventory of wound care supplies, ensuring all necessary instruments are readily available.
• Work closely with facility nursing teams and providers to coordinate and determine the patient list for wound care consultations.
• Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
• Obtain necessary insurance authorizations and verify patient insurance details before the wound care provider’s visit.
• Verify patient insurance information and ensure patient charts and records are accurate and up to date.
Qualifications:
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) in good standing with the state.
• Must provide a positive attitude each day and relate favorably with patients and facility staff.
• Must meet all state and local health regulations and pass a pre-employment exam, criminal background check, and reference check.
• Must maintain regular job attendance and reliability.
• Must have reliable transportation to travel to assigned nursing centers.
• Prior experience in Skilled Nursing Facilities is a plus.
• Medical billing experience is required.

• Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
• Capability to assist with patient repositioning and lifting when required.
